Puno Magic 4 Days and 3 Nights
Highlights
The Titicaca lake and the floating islands are the main touristic attractions in the department of Puno. The beautiful sceneries and the fascinating lives of their inhabitants make it worth to visit the islands of Uros, Taquile and Amantani. The Titicaca lake is the highest navigable lake in the world. It includes 36 islands. The most important ones are Taquile, Amantani, Soto, Anapia and Uros. You will also be able to observe, around a lagoon, a complex of funerary towers know as the Chullpas de Sillustani. They used to be tombs for the Aymara’s nobles.
Itinerary
Greeting at the airport of Juliaca or at the bus terminal of Puno and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, we will get to the Pre-Inca cemetery of Sillustani, where you will be able to see a pretty unique landscape made out of great mountains and the Umayo lagoon. We will also visit the enormous Chullpas de Sillustani (funerary towers). Return to Puno.
Day 2: Uros – Amantani
After breakfast, transfer to the port to take the boat to get to the floating islands of Uros where we can observe the people and their lifestyle. After 3 hours more, we will reach the Amantani island where we will separate is small groups to spend the night in the family’s houses. Traditional meals and music made by the islanders.
Day 3: Taquile – Puno
Breakfast and short boat trip to the neighboring islands of Taquile. Roundtrip around the ruins and return to Puno by the end of the afternoon. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 4: Puno – Cusco
Transport to the airport of bus station for your trip to your next destination.
